We are proud to announce that on January 10, 2013, the Supreme Court of Virginia issued its opinion in the case of Dressner v. Commonwealth of Virginia, in which attorney Patrick Blanch succeeded in overturning an unfavorable ruling from the Fairfax County Circuit Court. In this case, the Fairfax County Circuit Court refused to expunge a criminal charge even though the defendant had not been convicted of the charge. In its opinion, the Virginia Supreme Court agreed with attorney Blanch and held that the charge could be expunged. As a result, the Virginia Supreme Court ordered the Fairfax County Circuit Court to enter the expungement.
As always, Blanch & Hart must advise the public that a result in a particular case, like this one, does not predict or guarantee future success or similar outcomes in other cases. However, this case serves to illustrate the importance of having an experienced and dedicated attorney who understands the law and who has the skill to take your case to the highest court available if that is what it takes to achieve your goals.
